Etsy Baby Love

During my pregnancy I became addicted to browsing Etsy. When I discovered most Etsy artists would work with you to create custom pieces, I fell completely in love.

In one of my late night Etsy raids, I stumbled across Paper Pallettes. The shop boasts a variety of amazing canvas art. I sent along the photo of my baby bedding and just like that, I had a custom piece of art for the wall for $25.

Signature Art From Paper Palettes

After working with Paper Pallettes, I was on a roll. I next found Apryl222 and asked if she could do door knobs and a switch plate to match.  Again, success. The door knobs were $4 a piece and the switch plate was $10. A small price to pay for these original pieces.

I’m not much for themes, but these additions to the baby’s room helped tie everything together.

Mom Times Two

It’s really early. Or, maybe it’s really late. It’s really quiet, but I can’t sleep. How could I? Tomorrow I’m scheduled to have my second little girl.

Mia's Ready For Her Little Sister

I’ve been so caught up in the new house and other issues that the current economic climate has brought on that I’ve hardly had time to appreciate and embrace this new chapter in my life. Mia’s very ready to become a big sister, but I can’t imagine splitting the love I have for Mia in two. I hear God has mysterious ways of making that work so I’ll leave it up to him. Part of me feels like so much time has passed since I’ve been in newborn world, but I’m sure it will all come racing back once I hold the new one in my arms.

So, I guess it’s game time and getting some sleep before surgery would be a good idea. I hope to make this snappy and have more great stories to share on Mamma Mia about being a mom… times two.

Foto Friday Erica Clements Style

It all started with those dang mug shot looking pregnancy photos I posted a few weeks back. I took the first amateur step in embracing my growing belly with photos, and then the next thing you know, I’m in Erica Clements studio with Mia embracing this moment in life.

Mia and I had lots of fun with this shoot, and the delicious cupcakes provided by Erica helped too. Here are my fav pics from our session and also information on Erica’s holiday mini-sessions. If you are interested in holiday cards, call her NOW! Time slots are filling up and yes… the holidays are almost upon us.

Baby #2 and stuff i love

I’ve spent some time going through the baby things I saved from Mia and realized two things 1.) I was in a complete fog when I packed half of this stuff thinking I’d use it again 2.) 4 years is kind of a long time in baby years and a lot changes.

Now, I’ll get to the point of this post. I’ve been doing tons of web browsing for baby gear and thought why not share the news of my finds. Here are a few items I do not actually own, but I’m currently in love with and feel might be necessities for life with baby #2. Click the image to go directly to each website to check on prices etc.

The Moment Is Here….

I’m sharing some belly pics!!! Yes, due to multiple requests, I’m putting it all out there. With Mia, I didn’t embrace my growing belly in photos. Instead I spent my time agonizing, wondering how quickly I would be able to lose the weight I had gained. I’ve decided this time around (aka the last time around) I’m going to live it up grand finale style. This photo was taken on August 16… two weeks ago. I was exactly 25.5 weeks (for those of you who like to think in weeks). I have a little over two months left to go now!

In between moving, work, and keeping up with Mia, I’ve barely had a second to realize I truly am doing this all over again. Not until I ended up in the hospital last week did reality set in. Having contractions at 27.5 weeks while signing a pile of paperwork at the hospital will do that to you. All is well for now. I’m hoping this baby will stay put at least until I can figure out how to put the crib together…

And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for…

25.5 weeks and counting (aka around 6 months)

Flashing some skin!

Virgins Are Fun Too…

I knew I’d draw some folks in with that title. So I’m knee deep in this “growing a human” thing and have been battling the urge for my favorite summer cocktails. After some research, I’ve found that virgin drinks can be fun too. Check out these prego friendly mocktail recipes.

Virgin Mary – If you love brunch as much as I do, you’ll love this Virgin Mary. The healthy beverage is packed with Vitamin C, magnesium and Vitamin K. Mix 3 ounces tomato juice, 3 ounces cranberry juice, 1/2 tsp. Tabasco, 1 tsp. lime juice, fresh black pepper and garnish with lime or celery.

Bellini With Baby – A classy champagne flute is a must have for this easy and refreshing beverage. Mix 2 ounces peach nectar with chilled sparkling cider and enjoy!

Mai Tai – This drink screams pool time! Mix together 1/2 cup pineapple juice, 1/4 cup club soda, 1 tbsp. Grenadine, 1/4 cup orange juice, 1 tbsp. cream of coconut. Garnish with tropical umbrella and pineapple wedge.

Margarita – The queen of all summer drinks can be good sans tequila. I swear. Throw together  1/4 cup sour drink mix, splash of lime juice, splash of lemon juice and ice. Blend until icy smooth. Don’t forget to rim your glass with salt and lime.

Mojito Mocktail – I could never leave this prego mocktail favorite off the list. Mix together 2 tsp. sugar, 4 mint sprigs, 3 tbsp. lime or lemon juice, 1/2 cup club soda and 2 dashes bitters. Add mint, lime juice and sugar first then use a muddler before adding the rest of the ingredients.

See, virgins really can be fun….
